Reduce The Appearance of Pores!

Pores are small openings in the skin that release oils, sebum and sweat.

Your pores may appear enlarged at times due to some factors, such as an excess production of sebum (which causes oily skin), acne, sun damage, ageing, or when using non-comedogenic products.

If you’re bothered by the size of them, it’s usually genetically determined, and you can’t get rid of them either, but you may be able to reduce the pore size and appearance by adjusting your skin care routine.

Here’s our tips on how to cleanse and minimise your pores:

1. Review your skincare and makeup products

Make sure you’re not using any products that are overly thick; pick moisturisers, oils and makeup that’s suitable for your skin type to prevent clogging your pores further.

2. Cleanse day and night

Following a simple skincare routine is essential to maintain healthy and clean skin. Cleansing twice daily will clear away the buildup of oil, makeup, sweat, bacteria and other dirt collected from the day. Use a gentle cleanser (such as a gel cleanser) and avoid scrubbing your skin.

3. Exfoliate

Exfoliating can remove excess dirt, dead skin cells and oil; depending on the skincare product, exfoliators can clean deeper than a normal cleanser.

Examples of exfoliators include face masks, such as our all-time-fave Turmeric Rice Mask! We recommend to only exfoliate twice a week though, doing it frequently will only irritate your skin further.

4. Moisturise

Even if you have oily skin, one should still moisturise to keep the skin hydrated. Try using a light, water or gel-based moisturiser every day rather than thick creams to prevent any clogged pores.

5. Wear sunscreen

A must-have, wearing sunscreen will protect your skin from sun damage as well as prevent your skin from drying out, which may enlarge the look of your pores. Use an SPF of at least 30, and reapply every 2 hours.

6. Get a facial as a treat

If you’re still finding more solutions after these tips, we’d recommend treating yourself to a facial. A lot of facials will extract and deeply clean your pores, and may include treatments such as microneedling to plump your skin and “shrink” your pores.

Check out Aura Nur’s Microneedling treatment!

Nano Skin Refining Facial

Heal and Restore! This treatment is suitable for you if you have Acne OR Acne-Prone Skin, Sun-damaged skin, Blemished Skin, Wrinkled Skin.

We use Micro-Needling for this treatment, which is a derma roller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. This will generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Micro-Needling is mostly used on the face and may treat acne scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

What’s Our Procedure Like?

We start off with Double Cleanse > Extraction > Micro-Needling > Shoulder Massage > LED light Therapy > Mask > and finally, Moisturise & SPF

That’s all this week!
